Who is Kian Shakouri?
Video footage shows the moment a kickboxer chased a thief down the street after stealing items from his car.Kian Shakouri, 29, can be seen running out of his home in Bedworth, Warwickshire, wearing only boxer shorts after being alerted by his security cameras detected by motion outside his home.
He managed to catch up with the thief who “cringed, groaned and cried” when he dropped the stolen items, which included tools Shakouri uses for his carpenter’s job and keys from his neighbor.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning and was captured by CCTV at the kickboxing coach’s home.
The first seconds of the short-lived chase are captured on CCTV, showing the householder walking out barefoot and nearly naked as the hooded figure runs off.
Mr. Shakouri, who runs Total Kickboxing Academy, was alerted by his motion detection CCTV camera, which is connected to his mobile phone, around 6 a.m. M.
The instructor told Metro.co.uk: “At first I thought he was just a cat or the postman or something else.
“Then he alerted me again and I thought, ‘You better take a look just in case.’
“I opened the app and saw someone in the back of the car.
“At first I thought it might be my dad and then after about 10 seconds I realized. There wasn’t enough time to get dressed, I just ran.
“It must have been 20 or 30 meters before I reached it, the adrenaline was pumping so hard. To be honest, I didn’t think he would catch up, since he had a lot of advantage. ”
Shakouri reported the incident to Warwickshire Police and posted the images on her academy’s Instagram page.
He said: “My uncle saw the video and he sent me a message saying,” I heard Captain Underpants has been busy. ”
“It’s a good job, I didn’t sleep naked because I didn’t want to waste time putting on shoes or clothes.
“My feet are destroyed from running on the sidewalk, they have cut me quite a bit. But hopefully the thief has learned a lesson. ”
Warwickshire Police issued an appeal for information on an attempted robbery at Frances Crescent, Bedworth, which was reported to officers at 6:43 AM. M.
A spokesperson said: “We responded to a report that a criminal had been molested while trying to break into a vehicle.”
No arrests have been made.
Shakouri, who runs Total Kickboxing Academy, posted the video on his Facebook page, warning others to “be vigilant” and calling himself “captain’s underpants.”
He captioned it: “This garbage bbag was caught stealing cars in Bedworth this morning.
Be vigilant, keep your cars locked and desirable out of sight.
“The ring chambers saved the day this time, along with the captain’s writings.”
Warwickshire Police confirmed they were informed of the attempted robbery at 6:43 a.m. Sunday.
